Worms turn kitchen scraps into a nutrient rich fertilizer for your garden.

Join Solana Center for this free 2-hour presentation where you will learn the basics of vermicomposting (composting with worms). Using trial-tested advice and interactive demonstrations, our expert educators will teach you all you need to know to get started composting your food scraps. Learn all about how vermicomposting can benefit your garden, home, and community.

We will cover the following: what is vermicomposting and why it is so important; what tools and materials you'll need; which items are compostable and which are not; and how to harvest and use your compost.

We will meet in El Cajon and carpool to the Farm in La Mesa.
