CSA Sunday Supper: Sage Mountain Farm
What better way to cook in-season than with recipes direct from San Diego County farms?
This week we turned to Sage Mountain Farm for our Sunday supper inspiration. Their current farm box includes the likes of carrots Napoli, butternut squash, onions, sweet potatoes, and medjool dates (gotta love living in Southern California!).
Dates aside, this bounty begs to be tossed into a comforting, chunky soup. Their chicken and brown rice soup recipe is tinged with spicy ginger and overflowing with winter produce for a hearty meal fit for our increasingly chilly nights (make it vegan by using vegetable stock as your base).
As for the dates, well, we are obsessed with Minimalist Baker's chocolate enrobed, tahini-stuffed dates for an after dinner treat.
