Every April, Earth Day gives individuals a chance to care for the Earth and their communities. Whether it's through community events, planting trees, or just getting outside to enjoy the nature around us, we love to appreciate the beauty of the world. This Earth Day, give back to San Diego. Join I Love A Clean San Diego for their Creek to Bay Cleanup on Earth Day, April 22nd.

The 15th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup is a one-day event that gives local residents a chance to channel their appreciation for San Diego's environment into action. I Love A Clean San Diego's countywide cleanup includes 100 cleanup locations throughout San Diego County. There's no better way to get involved than participating in your neighborhood's cleanup. It's a great way to get some fresh air, meet your neighbors, and make an impact in your community.

Individuals can make a difference. The event's tagline, Your Neighborhood, Our Environment, encourages volunteers to sign up for a site in their neighborhood to contribute to the health and beauty of the entire region. 80% of marine debris originates from inland sources, so the litter you find in your neighborhood may very well make its way to your favorite beach and the Pacific Ocean through our waterways.

ILACSD encourages volunteers to bring their own reusable water bottle, gardening or work gloves, and bucket to collect litter. By choosing reusables, volunteers reduce the use of plastic disposable items and keep thousands of single-use bags and disposable gloves out of San Diego's crowded landfills. ILACSD even has a "Bling Your Bucket" contest, encouraging volunteers to decorate their trash-collecting vessel for prizes.

The Creek to Bay Cleanup Photo Contest, sponsored by Sony Electronics, allows volunteers to celebrate their volunteerism. This year's theme, Love Your Neighborhood This Earth Day, encourages youth and adults to capture their experience making a difference on Earth Day.

For the perfect opportunity to get involved, enjoy some fresh air and make a difference in your community, look no further than this year's Creek to Bay Cleanup on Earth Day.
